Abstract: | High-resolution synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements on a series of polycrystalline samples of Sr1−xBaxZrO3 at room temperature show that the symmetry increases with increasing Ba content, the sequence of phases being orthorhombic Pnma, orthorhombic Imma, tetragonal I4/mcm, and cubic Pmm. The effect of temperature has also been studied for a number of compositions and indicates that the same series of phases is present. The transition temperatures decrease with increasing Ba content. © 2001 Academic Press |
